Jesus Love You, This I Show
REFERENCE: I John 4:10 This is real love"not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as a sacrifice to take away our sins. 11 Dear friends, since God loved us that much, we surely ought to love each other. 12 No one has ever seen God. But if we love each other, God lives in us, and his love is brought to full expression in us.
Observation: It has been said (many, many times) that we can not love others unless we love ourselves. God tells us that we love because He has loved us. It is His love we need to experience and understand. It is that love, alone, that makes us able to love others. The way people outside of the faith see God's love is through our love. In fact, the full purpose of God's love is that it would flow through us to the rest of the world. The world needs to see how much God loves them and we need to help make that possible.
Application/Confession: It is not enough for me to revel in and enjoy God's love, I need to be looking for ways to be a conduit of that love to others.
PRAYER: Lord, help me to remember that I some of those around me will never know your love unless they see it in me. May I be an accurate reflector of that love to a world so in need of it.
