Workaholism Is Not Godly

REFERENCE:  Psa. 127:2 It is useless for you to work so hard from early morning until late at night, anxiously working for food to eat; for God gives rest to his loved ones.

Observation: We need to realize that our impulse to overwork comes not from God but from our own internal, fleshly drives. God's way is rest. Rest for those He loves.

Application/Confession: I am anxious too often and work to think that my work will resolve my anxiety. The key, as this scripture shows, is to be so convinced of the love of God and His promise to provide that I can rest instead of anxiously overworking.

PRAYER: God--Help me to rest in You. Convict me when I am reacting out of anxiety instead of resting in Your love and acceptance.
