Prospering In '08

REFERENCE: PSA 1:2-3 But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. 3 They are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.

Observation: When we do the right things and put our minds and actions in line with God, we will prosper, we wil bear fruit--but here is an interesting point--even those doing the right thing and those blessed by God have times when they are bearing fruit and times (seasons), by implication, when they are not bearing fruit.

Application/Confession: I want to be that kind of person whose life is so in line with the thoughts and actions of God's Kingdom that I will prosper in what I do. I also need to not be discouraged by the "seed planting" seasons. I need to look forward, with expectation, to the time when I will reap what I have sown.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me what it means to delight in Your law. On this first day of the year I want to set my course by Your Word--by investing myself in it daily. Not just reading but, as I am doing now, meditating. I ask that you would fulfill Your promise and bring prosperity to my family and ministry as I do so.
