Living The Good Life

REFERENCE: Pro. 1:2-6 Their purpose is to teach people wisdom and discipline, to help them understand the insights of the wise. 3 Their purpose is to teach people to live disciplined and successful lives, to help them do what is right, just, and fair. 4 These proverbs will give insight to the simple, knowledge and discernment to the young. 5 Let the wise listen to these proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding receive guidance 6 by exploring the meaning in these proverbs and parables, the words of the wise and their riddles.

Observation: For us to live good, Godly lives, we need; 1) wisdom, 2) discipline, 3) a commitment to doing what is right, just and fair, 4) insight, 5) knowledge, 6) discerenment and 7) guidance. That serves a pretty good recipe for a successful life and the Book of Proverbs promises all of this.

Application/Confession: As I start this year as I look at what Proverbs offers I realize that I need discipline in my life. I can always use more insight and discernment and I need to always look to God for guidance.

PRAYER: Lord, help me to be disciplined day after day after day this next year. Lord, please give me insight, discernment and guidance as I interact with your book of Proverbs over this year.
