It Is Good To Be Poor

REFERENCE: Matt. 5:3 God blesses those who are poor and realize their need for him, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs.

Observation: The person who will inherit the treasures of the Kingdom is the one who realizes that they need what God has to offer. Utter dependence on Him is the prerequisite to blessing.

Application/Confession: How often I want to rely on myself. How often I forget my utter dependency on Him. I want the blessings of the Kingdom but, perversely, I depend on myself, too often, to bring them about.

PRAYER: Lord--please help me. I need You! I want so much to stay desperate for You! Teach me how. I want Your blessings, but I want to know You even more.
