What Comes First?

REFERENCE: Matt. 6:33-34 Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. 34 "So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

Observation: Our job is not to worry about tomorrow but to have our focus set on the Kingdom of God and living right and God will take care of what we need. In fact, it is the only way to live without worry--to seek His stuff first.

Application/Confession:  I can get so consumed with worry and anxiety about what the future will bring--the health of the church, the state of my finances, how my kids are doing--but God makes it very clear that I need have only one focus--God's Kingdom and its place in my life. If I do that, all else, He has promised, will work out.

PRAYER: How soon I forget this Lord. Please help me to remember that each day you will give me the grace to face the challenges in it. Help me to keep my focus on you, my righteous choices and your kingdom--what you are up to. Help me to have the confidence that you will give me all I need.
