Humans: The Awesome Pinacle of Creation

REFERENCE: PSA. 8:5-8 Yet you made them only a little lower than God and crowned them with glory and honor. 6 You gave them charge of everything you made, putting all things under their authority; 7 the flocks and the herds and all the wild animals, 8 the birds in the sky, the fish in the sea, and everything that swims the ocean currents.

Observation: WOW--what are we as humans? A little lower than God, having glory and honor, we have been given awesome authority in the earth. It is incredible and sad to think of all we lost in the Fall. Because of sin our glory and honor was hidden and instead of ruling over the earth, the earth ruled over us. Jesus Christ came to restore us to that place of honor and glory. In Him, and because of what He did, we are now seated in heaven with Him, far above the powers of darkness that assume to rule this planet. It is incredible to think of our potential, if we could just grasp it--we are, at the core, people filled with glory and honor and power and we have every reason to live with that kind of confidence.

Application/Confession:  I, at times, give into feeling like I am a big bag of nothing. I don't count. I'm nothing of value or importance. I must always remember this verse--I am a creation of God who made me a little lower than God filled with glory and honor and gave me authority. It is in Christ that I find my true self. I have a powerful reason to live close to Jesus--only in Him can I discover and live out the reality of who I am.

PRAYER: Lord, help me!! I want to live up to what You made me to be. What You won back for me in Christ. May I never forget who I am in You.
