The Blessings of the Terrible "T" (Tithe) Word
REFERENCE: Pro. 3:9-19 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. 10 Then he will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine.
Observation: Here is another verse that reminds us of the blessings God has promised when we tithe of our income. The phrase "the best part of everything you produce" is an interpretation of the Hebrew word for "first fruits" which is a short hand way of saying tithe. Here God promises that when we tithe and honor God with our wealth (we need to do both) we can expect His blessing on our financial lives.
Application/Confession: I believe in tithing. I practice it and I try to honor God with all that I have. I need to be more diligent in asking for and expecting His great blessing on our family--as He has promised.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, thank you for all your blessings on our family. I have been faithful to tithe my whole life. I am not always perfectly faithful in honoring you in every financial decision but I am trying. God I ask you to see our faithfulness and to fulfill what this verse says; give us all that we need as a family--debts paid, a new car, fix up our home etc. I trust you to provide as you have promised.
There will be false prophets in the last days.
You must be one of them.
