When to Share, When to Be Silent

SCRIPTURE
 Gen. 37:9-11
Soon Joseph had another dream, and again he told his brothers about it. "Listen, I have had another dream," he said. "The sun, moon, and eleven stars bowed low before me!" 10 This time he told the dream to his father as well as to his brothers, but his father scolded him. "What kind of dream is that?" he asked. "Will your mother and I and your brothers actually come and bow to the ground before you?" 11 But while his brothers were jealous of Joseph, his father wondered what the dreams meant.

OBSERVATION
Just because God reveals something to us doesn't always mean that we have to share it immediately. It seems wise to seek God's mind not only to understand what He is saying to us, but when and how to share it with others.

APPLICATION/CONFESSION

When God talks to me, I want it to have the impact on others that God intends, so I will be cautious to seek to understand when I should share it. Sometimes His insights are just for me to cherish in my heart for a time (like Mary about Jesus when He was young).

PRAYER
Lord, teach me to have Your timing. Teach me to be so in tune with You that You can share something with me and trust me to share it when and how You wish for me to and not when my ego may want to share it.
