The Blessing of Humility

SCRIPTURE: Pro. 3:34 The Lord opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.

OBSERVATION: This is one of the most significant verses in the Bible. If we want God's grace (and who can live without it) then we need to live a life of humility. No one wants to be opposed by God, but that is exactly what pride brings.

APPLICATION/CONFESSION: I must be on the watch for pride in my own life. I know all too well how it can creep up unobserved and mess up my life. I want to live a life of humility before God and people--what do I have that God hasn't given me? What can I do that God has not made possible?

PRAYER: Lord, please warn me when pride is beginning to be a factor in my life. Convict me. Give me the grace to change because I always want to be in the grace of Your favor.
