The Key to Couragous Living

SCRIPTURE: Matt. 14:27 But Jesus spoke to them at once. “Don’t be afraid,” he said. “Take courage. I am here."

OBSERVATION: The knowledge that Jesus walks with us at all times ought to inspire a courageous spirit inside of all of us.

APPLICATION/CONFESSION: There are so many ways I try to work up courage--talk myself into it, train myself to take risks anyway. Here it is so simple--I can have courage because I am not walking alone--in the greatest storms in my life Jesus is with me. There is a reason to have courage--the ability to take action when my fears would paralyze me.

PRAYER: Lord, teach me to live courageously. When You call me to talk to someone or to put myself on the line for You, may I always remember that I am not doing it alone--You who love me and care for me are walking with me.
