SCRIPTURE: Pro. 6:9-11 But you, lazybones, how long will you sleep? When will you wake up? 10 A little extra sleep, a little more slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest"11 then poverty will pounce on you like a bandit; scarcity will attack you like an armed robber.
OBSERVATION: "According to a new survey by America Online and Salary.com, the average worker admits to frittering away 2.09 hours per 8-hour workday, not including lunch and scheduled break-time." It seems that there are some who could learn alot from this Proverb. It is an easy issue; if you want to be a financial success in life, don't waste your time. Time is a measurement of our life and when we waste time, we are throwing away our most precious possession--our lives. This doesn't mean that we shouldn't take time to rest and relax, recuperate. After all, God invented the Sabbath idea. It means that when it is time to work, we should work--and rewards will follow that commitment.
APPLICATION/CONFESSION: It is too easy for me to get distracted when I am working. I really want to make sure, especially since I am working for God, that I give my all during my work times.
PRAYER: Lord help me. Give me the energy, the strength, the focus to give my all when I am working. Remind me that I am working, at all times, for you.
