Reference: Deuteronomy 4:9 But watch out! Be careful never to forget what you yourself have seen. Do not let these memories escape from your mind as long as you live! And be sure to pass them on to your children and grandchildren.
Observation: Forgetting what God has done in our lives; failing to pass them on to our children. Both of these things are all too common for too many of us as Christians. We can have a "what has God done for me today" kind of attitude even though our salvation alone is enough of a blessing for the rest of our lives!
One of the biggest problems in Christendom is that we do not do as well as we should passing on our beliefs to the next generation. We need to talk to our kids about what God is doing and has done in and for us. Too often we keep our experiences with God private--even from our children. They need to hear and we need to tell!
Application/Confession: My children need to hear more clearly what God has done and is doing in my life with Him. I want to make them an observer and a participant in my intimate relationship with Him. I believe, if I do, that will be drawn into the power, wonder and joy that I am experiencing.
PRAYER: Lord, remind me to pass on what you mean to me to my children. May they learn to love You, in part, because of how they see us loving each other. I pray that they would be always close to You and know and love You deeply.
