3/29/2010 - Deuteronomy 11:18-20 Family Values
Family Values Observation: How do we pass on our values to our kids? By making sure, first, that we live out those values and then, that we talk about why we do what we do--at every opportunity. We need to look for those chances when we can talk to our kids about our beliefs. Here Moses gives some very practical suggestions; use travel time as "values talk time". Remember that when they are going to bed and when they get up they are most open to talking about more significant things. Write them out--put scripture around the house so that they are seeing it and meditating on it. Use every change you have to pass on what you know about God and His ways because Satan and this world will do everything they can to steal it away from them.
PRAYER: Remind me, Lord, of Satans schemes to steal the hearts of my kids and help me to be faithful to pass on what You have taught me to them. |
