The Art Of Bugging God
Reference: Luke 11:9 "And so I tell you, keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you. 10 For everyone who asks, receives. Everyone who seeks, finds. And to everyone who knocks, the door will be opened.
Observation: Two things that we can learn from this passage are that God rewards persistent prayer and that God wants to do good things for us. It is hard to be persistent. We wonder why, if God has already heard our request, we should need to keep telling Him of it. What we do know is that He asks us to "keep on" seeking, knocking and asking. It is not because He does not want to bless us. In the verses following Jesus describes the Father as a good God, a good Dad who wants to do good things for His kids. Unless we believe this we will not keep asking and we will not receive.
Application/Confession: I get tired of being persistent. I have asked God for 47 years to heal my leg and I still wear a brace. But, as Peter said, "we have fished all night and caught no fish, but at your command we will put down the nets one more time." My version is, "I have asked for healing all of my life and it has not happened, but if you ask for me to be persistent, I will keep asking."
PRAYER: I ask you Lord to heal my leg. Revitalize the nerves, strengthen the muscles and enable me to walk without a brace. Bless our family with greater finances. Thank you for all your blessings.
