Wow! I Get To Give

REFERENCE: I Chronicles 29:14 But who am I, and who are my people, that we could give anything to you? Everything we have has come from you, and we give you only what you first gave us!

Observation: Too often we feel like God is asking too much of us to give to Him or to the poor. We feel like we need every dollar we have. The perspective in this verse is so refreshing and convicting. It is a real, true, deep privilege to give to God. We must never forget that! We also should never forget that all we have to give is given to us by God anyway. My father used to point out the good deal that was. God gives us everything and then tells us that we get to keep 90% of it. What a deal!! We ought to be amazed at His grace.

Application/Confession: I have been a tither and a giver for my entire life. I can confess that God blesses those who tithe and give. I want to do more and, more importantly, I want to trust Him more with my finances. I want to be more obedient about how I spend the rest of my money outside of my tithes and offerings.

PRAYER: Thank you for your great blessings in my life. Indeed, who am I that I can give anything to You, the God of all the universe. Thank you for the great privilege of giving and teach me to be obedient with everything you give me.
