Say it: "Come Back To God"

Reference: II Corinthians 5:18b-20 And God has given us this task of reconciling people to him. 19 For God was in Christ, reconciling the world to himself, no longer counting people´s sins against them. And he gave us this wonderful message of reconciliation. 20 So we are Christ´s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, "Come back to God!"

Observation: This passage ought to grip our hearts. Imagine that; God has given us the task of bringing people into right relationship with Him. We are called to finish the work Jesus did and to make His sacrifice worthwhile. What an honor that God would entrust mere mortals with such a supreme responsibility.

What should be our response? Every chance we get, every opportunity, we ought to be saying, with love but with real deep passion; "get right with God". That message has been entrusted to us and we must not fail to present it. People´s eternal lives are in the balance.

Application/Confession: I forget this admonition way too often. I want to be passionate about calling people back to their Creator. I get so wrapped up in life, so busy, that I forget this important part of my call.

PRAYER: Help me to see, dear Lord, the people around me as those who desperately need You. Help me to hear in my heart You calling them back and may I be wise and brave enough to be the one to give voice to your pleading.
