For Every Winter There Is A Spring
REFERENCE: Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.
Observation: We are not very good with this "seasons" idea. If things are difficult, we have a hard time believing that they will get better. When they are great, we want to believe that they will never end. Yet, life is all about seasons. We are always going through phases in our lives and families. We get education, get entrenched in a job, we retire. Our kids are born, grow up and start of their own. Yet, somehow, we hope that we will be an exception to the season principle. None of us will be.
On the one hand, in difficult times, remember - it is only for a season. This too will pass!! No matter how cold the winter, spring is coming. It always has, it always will.
On the other hand, in good times, remember - don´t hold them too tightly. They too will pass. Enjoy them in the moment. Don´t let your enjoyment be lessened just because they are temporary. In fact, enjoy them more, like a rare flower that blooms for just a time. But also, live in the moment and quit waiting for "better times" to enjoy yourself. This may be the day we look back on and remember with great fondness in the future.
There is a season for everything. We need to learn to celebrate them all.
