Just Say Thanks

REFERENCE: Psalms 50:14 Make thankfulness your sacrifice to God, and keep the vows you made to the Most High.

Observation: God simply loves thankfulness. We put a lot of time and energy into sacrificing for God. That is a good thing to do, but what God wants just as much is our willingness to be thankful. He wants to know that we appreciate all that He has done for us.

How often, unfortunately, do our minds and attention get focused on what we don´t have, what is lacking in our lives? God wants our minds to be on what is good and what He has done and given us. Not only is it simply the right thing to do; to thank the one who blesses us, but it is good for us. When we are thankful people, we are positive people, we see the good rather than the bad. When we are positive people we are happy people.
So, thankfulness not only blesses God but increases our happiness.

Application/Confession: I try to practice thankfulness. I have a literal list and I recite it to the Lord. He has done so much for me. There are too many times, though, when I forget. I don´t want to forget. My faith needs me to remember. God is good and He is good all the time.

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for all you have done for me and my family. Forgive me for forgetting to say "Thank You". I am so very grateful.
