9/8/2007 - How To Really Change Minds 2 Corintians 10:4-5

    How To Really Change Minds

REFERENCE: 2 Corinthians 10:4-5 We use God’s mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

Observation: How do we change someone’s mind? If we have a friend or family member that will not acknowledge the truth about God, what do we do? We can try arguing, but that seldom works. We can try to force them to see things our way, the right way, but that never works.

What does work? Doing spiritual warfare on their behalf with God in prayer. We need to stand against every specific lie that they have come to believe. Not in argument, but in prayer. We need to call out every hurt, every misbelief, every obstacle of mind that keeps them from responding to God, and believe that it will be torn down. We can, actually, change people’s way of thinking through our prayers. What a thought. How exciting to think that we have that kind of power. We just need to use it.
