Weaknesses Can Be Good
REFERENCE: II Corinthians 12:9-10 Each time he said, "My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness." So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. 10 Thats why I take pleasure in my weaknesses, and in the insults, hardships, persecutions, and troubles that I suffer for Christ. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
Observation: This is such an important and powerful principle to learn. Simply put; our strength comes from our weakness. We are taught in this world that our strength comes from proving how powerful we are, how much we can do on our own, how much we can control in life. God shows us just the opposite truth. Our true strength is in what we can not do, what we are incapable of, those things that make us feel like giving up and throwing in the towel. Why? Because when we are weak and only when we are weak, Gods power has a chance to come and intervene in our lives. As long as we can make it on our own, we dont need Him and will not look for Him. When admit that we cant, then we are utterly dependant on Him and that is the greatest place to be.
Application/Confession: I still hate to admit my weaknesses but I am learning. I so like to be in control that to admit I cant is hard and a bit scary. I am learning that I can help others when they see that I have the same weaknesses that they do. They can see that we are in this together. It is at those times that God comes and does miracles that only He can do. I desperately need that miracle power in my life. Only when I admit that I am weak can it happen.
PRAYER: Thank you for my weaknesses. I hate them but I know you have made me with limitations and life brings brokenness and all of it points me to You and being dependant on You. I need You and I need your power where I dont have any (and that is most everywhere).
