God Cares

REFERENCE: Psalms 56:8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Observation: Two years ago the church I pastor was going through a time of great sadness. Four different families had lost loved ones in just a few days. The sorrow was almost palpable.
As I thought about what I was going to say at one of the memorial services, I reflected on what God has to say about comfort in verses like this one. They give me great hope. I can say to moms and dads, kids, wives of those that have gone on that God really does care about what they are going through. He cares so intimately and personally that He keeps track of every tear we cry. What a promise, what a great God. It is at times like these that we need to know that we have a God like this.

PRAYER: Lord, be close to those who are hurting. Let them sense that You care so much and are so close that You count their very tears. Let them know that You hurt with them. Help me to communicate Your loving kindness and compassion.
