God Cares

REFERENCE:  Psalms 56:8 You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in your bottle. You have recorded each one in your book.

Observation: As a church we are going through a time of great sadness right now. Four different families have lost loved ones in just the last few days. The sorrow is almost palpable.

I will be speaking at one of the Memorial Services in a couple of days. As I think about what God has to say about comfort, it is verses like this that give me great hope. I can say to mom’s and dad’s, kids, wives of those that have gone on that God really does care about what they are going through. He cares so intimately and personally that He keeps track of every tear we cry. What a promise, what a great God. It is at times like these that we need to know that we have a God like this.

PRAYER: Lord, be close to those who are hurting right now. Let them sense that You care so much and are so close that You count their very tears. Let them know that You hurt with them. Help me to communicate Your loving kindness and compassion as I speak to them personally or in a service.
