9/19/2009 - God Wants To Bless You Isaiah 30:15
Posted in Unspecified

God Wants To Bless YoU!

REFERENCE:
Isaiah 30:15 This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: "In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength . . . ."

Isaiah 30:18 Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!

Observation: What a wonderful thought!! God wants, desires, looks forward to being gracious to me. We feel, at times, like we have to force the compassion out of Him. If we pray long and hard enough, believe with scrunched up faced fierceness, maybe God will hear and answer our prayers. The truth is that He desires to favor us. He cares about us.
What is our job? What, perhaps, holds back His blessing? We are called to repent, to turn around and go His way. If there is sin in our lives we need to reject it and walk away from it. Then comes the hard part for many of us; we have to rest. It is so easy for us to be activists - just like little kids we want to "do it ourselves" instead of waiting on Him in quietness, trust and rest. Yet, that is the attitude of heart that God has promised to bless.

We need to be convinced when we pray that God is already predisposed to answering our prayers. That He is full of compassion and ready to bless.

Application/Confession: Sometimes I wonder if God really hears my prayers. It is so hard to wait. I know that it is important. I know that God works good things in me while I wait but I still don´t like it. This verse helps me to hang on and keep believing and expecting.

PRAYER: God thank you for Your loving compassion and care. I need it. I will pray to you expecting You to answer. Please give me the patience I need and the faith to believe.
