Deep Desire For God
REFERENCE: Psalm 63:1 O God, you are my God; I earnestly search for you. My soul thirsts for you; my whole body longs for you in this parched and weary land where there is no water.
Observation: This is how David found God and how he became a dear friend of God. He desired Him more than anything else. If we want to know God intimately we must ask God to increase our desire for Him. We must want Him more than anything else.
Application/Confession: So many, many other things grab my time, attention and affections. I want to want God like David did. I want His presence in my life to be my constant and deepest desire. I know I am not there yet but I see a vision of that kind of heart and I want it.
PRAYER: Lord, increase my hunger and thirst for You. I can not even conjure up my desire on my own. Please help me. Ruin my taste for anything being first in my life but You.
