Telling Ourselves Lies

REFERENCE: Psalms 119:29 Keep me from lying to myself; give me the privilege of knowing your instructions.

Observation: Only God can keep us from lying to ourselves. It is only when we truly understand His instructions that we are able to see where we do not measure up. His commands force us to tell ourselves the truth.

Application/Confession: I know that I can only grow when I learn to be completely honest with myself. God has a way of holding up the mirror and showing me what I really look like. I am thankful for that and I am very thankful for His Word that presents that kind of unblinking reflection.
