11/26/2007 - WHAT IF GOD DOESN’T COME THROUGH? Daniel 3:17-18

What If God Doesn’t come Through?

REFERENCE: Daniel 3:17-18 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God whom we serve is able to save us. He will rescue us from your power, Your Majesty. 18 But even if he doesn’t, we want to make it clear to you, Your Majesty, that we will never serve your gods or worship the gold statue you have set up.

Observation: These three guys statement of faith and commitment is simply awesome and an example to be followed. They fully believed that God would save them. Yet, they were fully prepared, even if He didn’t, to never be unfaithful to Him.

That is the true test of our faith. Will we be faithful to God when it seems that He is not being faithful to us? Satan will be quick and certain to point out when God is not “performing” up to our expectations. If we have walked with Him long enough we know that His delays have a purpose, but they are still an inward test.

The truly faithful are faithful even when God doesn’t act they way we want Him to or when we want Him to.

Application/Confession: I sometimes feel like giving up when God doesn’t do what I want Him to, and on my schedule. I will choose to stay faithful and engaged through the disappointment knowing that He has a larger plan.

PRAYER: Dear God, remind me that You are up to more than I can see and help me to be faithful no matter what I see.
