End Time Living

REFERENCE: I Peter 4:7-9 The end of the world is coming soon. Therefore, be earnest and disciplined in your prayers. 8 Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins. 9 Cheerfully share your home with those who need a meal or a place to stay.

Observation: We are in the end times. How should we live? In our praying we should be both disciplined, do it regularly and make sure it happens, and earnest, no mamby-pamby “now I lay me down to sleep” prayers but real ones agreeing with God’s purposes.

At this point in time we need love for one another; love that is willing to overlook the failures in other’s lives. A spirit of hospitality, when the world is going crazy, will be very important to practice.

Application/Confession: I need to be more disciplined and earnest in my prayers. It is easy to just pray"not to be regular, not to be earnest and I don’t want to do that.

PRAYER: Lord, draw me to Yourself in prayer. Remind me of the import of this time in history.
