Who AM I?
REFERENCE: Colossians 1:22b-23a As a result, he has brought you into his own presence, and you are holy and blameless as you stand before him without a single fault. 23 But you must continue to believe this truth and stand firmly in it. Don´t drift away from the assurance you received when you heard the Good News.
Observation: There is something very powerful about seeing ourselves the way God sees us. Imagine what it would be like if we could really believe that we are "holy", "blameless", "without a single fault". In the same way that children live up (or down) to what their caregivers (parents and teachers) believe about them, so do we. If we believe that we are simply dirty, rotten sinners, that is how we will live. Perhaps if we can let God massage into our hearts the idea that we are pure and right, we will live like it is true.
Application/Confession: I am working to make this truth a fundamental part of how I see myself. I'm not there yet, but I working at it. I believe it will make a difference in how I live.
PRAYER: Lord, let me see me in your mirror. May I see what I am like in your eyes and may I live up to that image by your grace.
