5/2/2008 - Edification from praying in tongues
St. Paul said "that which I recieved gave I also unto thee," well that's all anybody can do isn't it, if all you've recieved are a set of, redundant to usefulness doctrines, that's what you will be rattling on about, like a dog who has dug up some dirty, smelly old bone and he won't let go of it even if you toss him a lamb chop. This is not at all to dismiss good wholesome doctrine which is vital to our faith and which is coming under a most ferocious assault by the devil at this present time. But even good doctrines can be wrongly held.
When the Lord gave me SPOUSE SONG which along with DOVE SONG is on this page, I recieved it through edification after times of praying in tongues, I was a bit startled by the words "Jesus looking in the window" but when the song was written down and I saw that it was from Song of songs I read that book in the bible with renewed interest, what joy to find in the 2nd chapter "behold my Beloved...gazing in at the windows," if next time you are in church you were to look up and see Jesus looking in the window I guarantee you will be up on the balls of your feet singing with all your might, heavens forbid, you may even jump and clap your hands a little for sheer joy at seeing your Lord in His beauty. But dear friends He is there.
The song is about our first espousals to the Lord and our earliest love for Him, the stealings away for those blessed times of sweet fellowship with Him in prayer, our discovery of Him as our shade and shelter, the feasting upon the delicious fruit He brings us, the coming festal gathering and the comfort we have in the knowledge that His banner over us is love. Friends these are weighty themes to dwell upon, heart grounding and most precious truths and the dear Lord gave them to me in a song.
DOVE SONG if you look closely is actually the same song and taken from the same sacred book of the bible, but how different, here we see the saint perhaps a little further on in his walk with the Lord, maybe there has been some holding back, "I was asleep with heart awaked," some failing to enter in to the fulness of the Spirit, a measure of failure to open our hearts fully to recieve all that the Lord has for us. Perhaps the shadows have come, we may have lost a measure of the fulness His immediate Presence in our lives, and we seek somewhat sorrowfully and cry "oh where is my Beloved gone and my Dove where is He turned." We find Him again pasturing His sheep, gathering up His lilies-that is we find Him in the church-and we are reassured of His everlasting love for us.
What precious truths are these, what doctrines, what delicious fruit to feed on and Imma saying the Lord gave it all as a most holy and precious gift through the edification of a time spent praying in tongues.
Yes, yes these truths are in the bible, but I had read Song of songs without seeing them there. May the dear Lord bless you this hour, and He will if you will draw nigh unto Him believing.
