Domesticity
slides through our fingertips
or maybe it ineffectively glides
it is suggestive
of something lost
rediscovered
offensive
surrounding idle life
whispers behind backs
admired
insulting
something of old comfort
that degrades behind the scenes
flowery language
a quiet heroic life
it's surrounded in reminiscence
as things revolve
ever changing
a sad half-comical picture
of youth entrapped in these
conventional frames
even as they stand above
with downcast eyes
but always there
without apologizing
though sometimes with
a whimper and a hush
it tries to hide
against the angry glare
the right or wrong of it
only half-matter
in the glaring light
of unbreaking obscurity.
