How another can look upon you
and see anything worthy of love,
to be deceived into believing
there is any trace of beauty
marked upon your face
eludes me endlessly.
For I have soul-eyes
and penetrate through your
waxen veneer, where ugliness
grows inside and when I lay
eyes upon you, I see nothing
but rot and decay.
When another touches your
fetid skin, I shudder in disgust,
it is a twist of irony, your disability
contorted you into a living monster
and now it is no less than you deserve,
perhaps the fates could see that
your soul was already black and tarnished.
For plead as you may
your choices were made as part
of who you are, and my sympathy
drips right down the drain and
washed away with the poison of
your mockery of tears.
