Scape Goating

Posted in Rants
One of the biggest problems in society today that really frustrates me, as many things in society do, is the fact that no one is willing to look at themselves any longer. No one is willing to take responsibility for themselves any more, they do not want to change, but want somehow the world to change around them so all their problems go away without them having to do anything, or having to admit that they might somehow been wrong or made a mistake.

I am so tired nowadays, or whenever there is any sort of problem, as one I have touched upon being child obesity, others, are obesity in general, school shootings, juvenile violence and so on, people just want to find some outside source to point to, and to demonize and vilify as being some great evil and if you just get rid of that then everything will go away and everything will be fine.

That is a bunch of malarkey, The TV, the video games, the junk food, the movies, the music, those things are not the problem, those things have been around for years and years, the problem is YOU, yes YOU, I know it is shocking isn't it. Hey, here is a clue, get off your lazy self-important ass and actually raise your kids. If you think the video game is inappropriate then do not buy it for him, if you do not like what he is watching on TV, turn it off. Monitor the kind of music he is listening to and he is buying. Yes he will get exposed to things when he is at school, or at friends house or whatever, but that is just a part of growing up, not everything is going to be under your control but you can sure as hell control what happens in his home environment.

So stop your whining, your bitching, your moaning, you blame placing and take a good hard look at yourself, and ask yourself, what might I be doing to contribute to this problem and how might I be able to prevent it somehow.
