Until the Sky Clears
Listening to the rain drops
plopping softly like the
lowliness of my heart.
A room appearing empty
is full of vivid fading
memories.
Moments that cannot be
regained, a life once
lived now gone forever.
Time to look to the
future, as bleak as
water streaked windows
on a cloudy day.
There seems no hope
on the horizon, but still
life most find a way to
go on.
One phase closes
so another can reopen
but even so the transition
is like a stormy day.
Maybe someday we
wake up and stop crying,
the sun relights the world
and the heart can sing again.
But for now the sky will
darken the world as the
rain falls in a dreary serenade.
