Who needs to be shot in the face this week

Every once in a while I come across someone who I think needs to be shot in the face, and I have run across another such person. That person is Caitlin Flanagan, I just so her on an interview on the Colbert Report, and she is this bimbo who thinks we need to go back to like the 1950's and wrote a book all about how women need to put back into the kitchen and out of the work place, and men should be the head of the household and be the ones to work and women should only be concerned being mothers and taking care of thier husbands, and do not need to have any sort of independence.

If a woman chooses that she wants to live a more "traditional" life and fall into a more "traditional" role then that is her bussiness, but to think that all of society needs to revert and that women opression by men is a good thing, is just completely insane.

WE CAN NEVER GO BACKWARDS.

It always amazes me that seemingly intelligent people say the most assine things.Who would want to revert to the 1950s. My poor Mother worked like a horse with no modern conveniences and Dad worked hard also. No I think that the way blokes help their wives these days is a big improvment on those years. And wives did work outside the home back then as well, so what's this woman on about? I don't know that I would want to shoot her in the face or any part of the body really that maybe a bit extreme but I get your drift plain and clear. L O L :)

I don't know if this really has anything to do with what you, Silver Wind, wrote, as I'm an uneducated mind, but there was a recent study in this country and the results showed that housewives never even existed in this country, the Netherlands before 1930, and the sole reason that they came to being is the economic crisis of those days.

With few jobs available a family was lucky if only the husband had a job. Only after the war when the economy picked up men started oppressing their wives and forbid them to work. Memories of the past faded quickly, and men started believing that women have always been housewives.

This led to the feminist movement of the sixties and seventies.
