Immigraton

This is an issue which I have debated commenting on, I usually do not speak upon popular political issues becasue there are so many other people out there to talk about them, but usually I pick up more obsecure thigns or social issues, but there is something I want to say on this subject.

The issue which I speak of is the whole illegal immigration thing that is going on. And the one thing that inffuirates me the most about this issue is the fact that everyone seems to just be overlooking the fact that these are ILLEGAL immigrants. No one with any intelligence is against immigration if it goes through the legal process to become citizens of this country, what people have a problem with is illegal immigration. These people are breaking the law plain and simple.

I do not care what reasons they might have for doing it, I do not care how crappy thier country is, there is a right way to do something and a wrong way, and the ones that do it the wrong way should have to pay the penely the same as any other criminal has to.

And I want to know, all these people that try to defend the illegal immigrants and make excueses for them, do they think that people who are poor or have less money then them should be able to break into thier house and take whatever they want and then leave? Because it is the same thing.

Maybe people in poverty or who are homeless should also be exempted from following the laws as well. Maybe if a person has a really good reason, they should be allowed to commit crime.

The illegal immigration is the same thing, they are breaking the law, they are comiiting a crime and thus they are cirminals, and yet somehow it is seen as horrible and racisist to want to hold them accountibale for that crime. But they should get a free pass just becasue they are only trying to get money to feed thier families becasue thier own country is so messed up.

Well first of all, there are plenty of poor impoverished people in this country who are natural born citizens and they do not get speical rights to commit certain crimes just to feed thier familes.

Secound of all if thier country is so screwed up then why don't they do what people in this country have been doing since the exisitence of this country, and take steps to make thier own country better so they could live there. Of course it will not be easy and it will not happen overnight but I would think you would want to make your own country a better and more liveable place for you, your family and the rest of your people instead of just bailing and then complaining that you are not treated humanely or not getting enough money in your jobs that you are doing illegaly.

Totally agree

I totally agree with you Silver. I definitely don't object if they go through the legal process as well. It's only right that they enter this country properly. They wouldn't like it if we were entering illegally in their country. Anyway, I agree.

I agree too!

Once again you said what was on my mind. I've even heard that it's not true that illegals take jobs that citizens wouldn't. Seems that, for example, landscapers perpetuate that myth because they wouldn't hire me when they can hire someone they can pay a crappy wage, forget about insurance, etc.

Yes it is a big problem. I suppose because the United States is known as the land of the free and so called defender of the down trodden, people from other lands take it as literally so.
<br>What they do not grasp is exactly what you say... and that is the U.S.A has many poor, down trodden people of it\'s own that it can\'t help or chooses not to, so why should it be bypassing it\'s own poor and needy in favour of others who come illegally. It is a problem all First World countries face including this land of Australia and as the difference between the haves and the have nots grows ever more obvious with modern communications I fear it will get worse. I don't agree with everything you wrote, but I can tell you one thing: The US have to stand their ground against illegal immigration, and not give any of the illegals even a temporary status. If they do that, even people who weren't even in the country before will try to get into the country to claim their status, and then things will really get messy.

We've had a big plane crash in a poor part of Amsterdam back in 1994, where a plane crashed into two apartment buildings, densely populated by immigrants. Our government decided to give any illegal affected by the crash a permanent status, but this attracted illegal immigrants from all over Europe. In the end everything was sorted out nicely, but at times it seemed an impossible task to tell those truly affected, and those who lied apart. I don't want to think about what would happen if such a thing happened on a scale the US would face.
