Encounter with a GargoyleI have had many strange experinces in my time, and there is one in particular which really sticks out clearly in my mind. It happend about 4 years ago in the summer. I was walling my dog up to this park, and the park is sort of on this hill, and to get to it you have to walk on this little trail, below the trail there is this small sort of ravine with a creek that runs through it. It was in the evening so it was starting to get dark but was not really dark dark yet. I was walking on the trail to the park when I saw something sitting on the slope of the ravine it looked like a dog at first but there was somethign which struck me as odd and I decided to get a closer look. As I began to draw nearer I swear whatever it was I saw began to look very much like a gargoyle only without wings. It was sitting perfectly still and did have a sort of canine resemeblence, but I could see that its skin was this stone gray color and appeared almost leather like and there was no fur or hair it was also quite large and still as a statue. At first I was just like what the hell, and did not quite belive what I was seeing so I moved in closer to try and uncover the mystery, but the closer I came the more and more it looked gargoyle like and not like any natural animal I have ever seen or known about. The other thing is as I drew closer I had began to get this increasingly strange feeling of unease and I could heard this sound. It was almost like a vibration, sort of hard to explain but it was like a whoosh whoosh whoosh that came as a pulse like a heart beat almost. I grew as close as I could untill it got the point where I just could not force myself to move in nearer becasue of the growing feeling of discomfort and I looked and looked trying to puzzle it out but I really could find now possible explianation for what I was seeing, the whole time it never moved, not once, and as much as I scrunized the gorgale apperence never altered or changed. After that day I never saw anything like it again though I tried returning to the spot the next day at around the same time I went the first time.11:23 AM - 5/1/2006 - post comment
