Immortal Eyes
Immortal eyes watch from
the heavens above,
one of Apollo's burning gold,
fires of hot passion and beauty
inspired, the comfort of warmth
and bringer of the life,
the other silver of Artemis,
an enticing mystery and offered
wisdom of age and time,
the guiding force through the
dark of night.
Seasons pass below their
observance, untouched and yet
not unaffecting, ruling from their
celestial thrones, etheral orbs
of fire and ice, interconnected they
pass through the stars, moving as
one body in twp separate spheres.
Their names called upon the wind,
praised and sought, they sing to the
soul and heart, through all the changes
of the world they are a reliable constant,
the witnesses to the beginning of time,
the holders of secrets and confessions.
Wherever one is, wherever ones stands,
they stand under the ones whom have seen
kings and emperors pass, heard the tears of
fallen heroes and watched the rise and fall of
dynasties.
Immortal eyes are the only ones
that know the truths of history,
the lives and death of those that shaped
the world, the unknown forgotten whom
never left a lasting mark.
Where rulers and peasants have toiled
alike under the same watching sky of the
day and the night. And so they remain yet
to see things we have not yet seen to know
things we cannot yet know.
Until the day they close their eyes and
darken the earth forever to bring it all at
last to its final close.
