There is an odd conecept which I have been pondering over relating to butterflies and moths. The thing which I find to be intresting is the fact that they are essintially in the same family and are simillar in appernce and diet. It is true that butterflies tend to be a bit more brightly colored then moths though some moths really can be very pretty. Though the thing that I find is strange is that people love butterflies, there are few insects that the majority of people acutally enjoy and butterflies is one of them. In part due to thier appernece, but at he same time it seems people for the most part tend to get creeped out by moths. I have always belived that this is due to some strange stigma relating to the fact that the other big different between moths and butterflies is that moths are nocturnal while butterflies are day dwellers. It just seems odd to me that for two things that are so vastly simillar there would be such contrasting attitudes about them.

butterflies and moths
I agree with you. Moths need to be treated the same way as butterflies and if we cannot be kind to them then atleast we shouldn't harm them. Thank you for pointing these double standards of ours out. We need to appreciate all forms of nature and celebrate it. I hope your blog makes a difference.

Butterflies are also used as the symbol for growth and change, which is interesting. I went to a butterfly garden in Borneo, it's a nice place you both should visit! :)
