Love and War

Posted in Thoughts

I just saw this great scene on this show on TV, the show was King and Queens, and it was a Christmass episode and Doug and Kerry were arguing and decided they were going to have spereate Christamass's so they were at the tree lot together and buysing thier own individual trees when they went up to pay and the ones who owned the tree lot were this old married couple and the man had to go and get change for Kerry after she paid and Kerry was talking to the woman and then her and Doug got inspiered by the couple and how they had been together for so long and worked together, and so they made up and decided to get one tree together and walked off and then as soon as they were gone the old couple started aruging and bickering with each other.

I really liked this for a few reasons. For one it showed how apperences can be decpetive and things are not always what they seem becasue the piece Doud and Kerry saw made it look like the old couple were in complete harmony with each other even after being together so long, and I liked the way they were suddenly inpsiered and touched by that and were able to mend thier own problems at the sight, but at the same time, it also showed how nobody is perfect and no matter how long you might be with someone there will still be disagreements and how it is natural in a way, but there is also a time to set differences aside.

Fascinated...

What a great post. I have been married a long time and you cannot say everyday has been a bed of roses or you would have a nose the size of Pinocchio. Marriage is a give give arrangement mainly give. But as you grow older together you become like a good mellow wine or a comfortable pair of slippers and if you lost a slipper you wouldn't be able to walk very well. But one can still on occassion ark up and get all animated and irritated with sometimes what seems rediculous. But no one who has got a lot of years of marriage under their belt, got there without a lot of committment, giving and understanding. Marriage is like a good dough it has to be worked and kneaded right or it won't rise to be harmonious and tasty. It doesn't matter if you have been married one day or 50 years it is a work that is progressive and has to be attended to constantly to get the most out of it. Or it will fail and fall into the black hole. Thank you, I send you a :-) and a (hug) from Dawnie.
