Twilight Reprieve
Within the pale moonlight
the unhinged eye of no light
shines down upon the sleeping
realm and I saw a vision while
my eyes were plasted open
of soft flowing ebon in a river
of curls.
Delicate skin, to be touched
and caressed, so easy to bruise
and oracle orbs that seem to peer
into a whole new world.
A smile pale and pink
and warm blood in rivulets
just under translucent flesh
barely hinted.
To taste something of nectar
fermented, still sweet with a
touch of bitter, just enough
to make me intoxicated.
I would call a name into the
mist in hopes that it be heard,
but as I wait no answer is sent
back to me.
It seems I follow only ghosts
of dreams, forever alone and
longing for affections which
can never be given.
