Dancers VS SingersThere is an intresting phonomen which I have noticed, and I cannot help but to wonder if there is something more behind it it. I have I do admit watched American Idol before, though usually I only watch the audtition rounds, at least the first and maybe the secound season, I watched all the way through, and I also watch So You Think You Can Dance, which I do enjoy a good deal better, for one becasue I love dance, and I am a dancer. The thing I have noticed is that it seems to me dancers are acutally more well adjusted then singers are. On So You Think You Can Dance, espcially in the final founds when a constant gets told they have been eliminated, they always seem to take it for maturely and they do not act like it was the end of the world. They are grateful for having made it as far as they did and just happy they got to do what they love, and they are usually good humored and smiling. But on Idol, the constants usually break down crying and sometimes they argue with the judges sometimes and get an attitude and go on a tireade about how good they really are. The other thing which I have noticed is that even in the audtion rounds with the exepction of a few here and there the dancers seem to be a lot more well adjusted when they are told they are not going to make it or when the judges crizize them there are a few that get a little drama queen, but it does not seem as many as with the Idol contesents. And the same thing throughout the compition, the dancers accept critizim a whole lot better overall it seems, they just stand there and smile and nod thier heads and sometimes they take what they are told to try and improve instead of getting a chip on their child and telling off the judges about how great they really are and about how the judges don't know what they are talking about. On So You Think You Can Dance there was even on contestant who told the crowd not to boo the judges when they critized him because he said he knew his preformance was not up to par and that he could improve.
