Missing You
With longing and desire do my
thoughts turn to you,
that you have been away
brings me the greatest of sorrow,
but at least I can look to every night
with hope, that in my dreams you
will come and visit upon me.
How I crave to hear your voice
in my ear again, how I need
to feel your lips against my
skin, and to live within your arms.
When I lay down to sleep, and my eyes
close, you are there waiting for me
to bring me the comfort I need.
But still, how much I pray
that you shall return swiftly
to my side again.
Each day brings its own torment
that you are away, but still my thoughts
of you keep me going.
I know that I shall again take hold of you,
that I will rejoice within the warmth you
give to me, and all the sweetness you bestow.
But how long it seems the wait has been.
For ever minute you are gone, it is as if
a part of my heart and soul are gone as well,
watching over you, to see you returned to
my arms where I again will be made whole
But for now I am only but a fragment of myself,
living upon memories and dreams to keep me
company, until I can again rejoice fully in your
presence.
