The Duel

I have always been a fan of the idea of the duel, and the more I think about it, the more it really does make sense and really I do not see what the problem and what is so bad about the duel is to start with. I am in fact pro dueling and I think that dueling ought to be allowed, of corse this will never happen, becasue for whatever reason it is somehow seen as barbaric. But if you ask me it is a lot more civilized then having people just shooting each other up at the risk of injuring innocent civilians who are not envolved in whatever the conflict might be. Of course there will still be sickos that just kill innocent people for thier own twisted joy in it, but that has always exsisted, but the duel system would really be effective when it comes to regvenge killing.

For example many deaths particuarly in cities are usually the restult of civilians being caught up in the crossfire of some gang shoot out, so what if instead if one gang memeber had a beef with another gang memeber they were allowed to arrange a time and place to meet and duke it out and resolve thier issue in a way that would be within the realm of the law so they would not have to fear relitation from authorties and a way in which would prevent unintional civillian death.

Or what if if a man were to catch his wife cheating on him with someone else he was allowed to challange his rival to a duel instead of getting thrown in jail becasue his wife was a skank and he bashed her loves head in with a baseball bat. And that is another plus side about the duel system, the more people that adhered to it, and there would be little reason not too would be that it would cut down on the over populations of jail.

Now some poeple might think this is just some sort of rationlization for murder but I do not view the duel as murder for it consites of two consenting adults who agree upon the rules, time, place, weapon, and so on, and both know what to exepct and enter into it freely and knowingly, and of course if a person kills someone without following the duel guidelines then that would still be considered murder so it would not make murder legal, for it would still be against the law to kill someone who does not consent to a duel. And really in the long run dueling just helps to give the vicitim more of a fair chance becasue instead of just being shot in the back, or stabbed while they are in bed sleeping, they will know what to exepct and when to expect it and they will be as equally armed as thier oppenent and have a fair chance to defend themselves.

And the duel would appeal to the challanger becasue it would give them the oppertunity to settle thier affiars without the worry of having to go to jail or have thier daily lives dirupsted in anyway. Really in the long run I thnk the dueling system is all quite civilized.
