Tell Death Do Us Part

Posted in Thoughts

I was reading this interview in Utne and it was about Lust, Love, and Marraige and they were interveiwing this couple who do couples councinling and such, and one of the questions asked was this.

What do you think about the possiblity of open relationships?

and the resonse that the husband in the interview was this

Raging bullshit!

Now he said some other stuff too, but that was the very first line, and I think that sums it up in a nutshell.

I thought that was great, and it gat me to chuckles, and I love the fact that he had the blunteness to just come out and say it.

Now I know as a young liberal Pagan there is this preception that I should be very open and well in essecence I am in the way of I support the right of other people to do what they wish within thier lives and in thier relationships as long as everyone is consenting to it and no one is being hurt, but when it comes to me personally, I have to say I have always been a traditionlist about relatonships.

Which I have to admit is a bit odd becasue it probaly goes against everything else I belive as far as I am not conservitive, I am not stuffy I am not prudish I do not even neasiarly think prostituion should be illiegal. But with all that being said I am not going to pretend just becasue of this preception that other might have of me and what I should belive, and I am not afried to come out and say it that for me personally I am all the way a full hearted beliver in monogamy. I have an intrest in being with only one person and being completely faithful and loyal to that one person and being with soemone who shares that same view and whose only intrest and wish is to be exclusively with me.
