Suicidal Chickens

Posted in Thoughts

I am sure many of us have seen those Foster Farms commercials, the ones which depict the two puppet chickens that are trying to convince people they are Foster Farms, even though they eat fast food and do other such unhealthy and unatural things.

Well I have always had a problem with these commercials, now I know they are only commercials, and are not ment to be taken seriously and such, but the thing that gets me about these commercials is that why in the world would the chickents wnat to be Foster Farms? If they get what they want and manage to convince someone they are really a Foster Farms chikens then they are going to end up on someones dinner plate, but right now they have it good. They are free and nobody wants to kill and eat them. If anything more chickens should be trying to be like them.

To me it seems this commerical is about a couple of suicidal chickens, but becasue they are aniamls it is just not viewed as suicide, but this commercial and comericals like it, as I have seen others of a simillar bent, in which a an animals is trying to make itself more desirable for human consumption seems only to further emphisie the beflief that animals are here simply to be used, and eaten by humans. And that there only purpose is for human use.

Now granted I am not a vegitatarin, and I humans are omivores, it was how they are made, which means they are designed to eat both meat and vegitation, and it is natural to consume other animals. Lions eat gazzel, wolves eat elk and so on, and humans sense the beginign of humanity have fed on animals, but all the resepct, and spritituality and remorse  which was once part of the hunt has been taken out of it.
