Discovery
We lay awake
like the walking dead,
passing by the signs
with a blind eye.
How many things
have we missed?
How many opportunities
passed by?
In the struggle to survive,
to quest for more,
dig deeper into the
earth.
How many times have
we sacrificed are happiness?
Turned away from a blooming
rose, not trusting the bud for
a surer bet.
Within the shadows of uncertainties,
their may lie the gems which
glitter all the more vibrantly
then those in reach of the light.
But we pass unbothered
to tempt what we do not know,
an explorative drive,
long died with the comforts
we gorge upon.
Risks that will reap
material awards to be
held within the hand take
presence over those which
might leave us with only
dreams and wisps, but
a chance to fill the chalice
of our hearts.
