The Eye of Ishtar
Deep in the mountains
where the wild flowers
bloom
Deep in the heart of
the old mans tomb
I buried it all away.
I hid it in the bowels
of the earth, where once
like a sultan I lived,
Feasting on pleasure
never through, I found
a pair of eyes watching
in the dark of night.
Love of the moon I found
she tempted me with
every breath I took
and all through the day
I was only half what
I could have been.
Now I tried to find
a way to purify my blood
for her, to take me up
into her embrace, how her
ice could cool the fire.
So I hid it all away
everything that made me
weak
Temptation I through aside
all my gold and treasure I
would sink to the deepest
pit.
Feast no more on riches
all my wives I turned away,
on my knees I ask forgiveness
that she grant my one last wish
only to know her love.
A king once I had been,
now her slave I am,
stripped of everything for
once I lived
So take me away I ask,
I would end it all just to
see her eyes once more
watching with wanting
desire.
Now I am ready for ascension
I take the knife in hand,
watch as the blood flows out as
slowly my life would end.
Trust me when I say
she would take me
trust me when I say
she would thank me
for as I close my eyes
it is all I have left to
compromise.
