Labyrinth of the Mind

Dream Prohecy

Posted in Writing

This was done as part of a writing exercise in which I sat down for 10 mins and just wrote without stopping or thinking, or pre planning, just whatever came to my mind. Then later I typed it up and did some small edidting to make it read a little better. Added puntuation and things of the like. This might become part of something more in the future, that is yet to be seen.

Dream Prophecy

It was a blustering winters day. The wind spoke of wrath as it whipped sharply with a cool crisp chill that bit through my clothing and stung my skin like sharp dagger points. Howling its vengeance as if it were a great beast of yore. The leaves danced in bright colors, and appeared almost as flamboyant pixies as they dotted the sky in brief flashes of flaming color before being whisked away and out of sight.

I stood on the bluff that day. The grass emerald green dancing furiously under my feet. In the air there was a distant melody faintly heard as it was carried across the stormy sea. The waters were in tumult and assaulted the rocks without mercy. In the distance beyond the horizon where the water and sky meld into one there was a darkness. It was starting to roll in. A great storm that would sweep over the land. I could only watch held transfixed, as if caught in some enchantment.

I felt it was coming. The air quivered like a bow string drawn tight and ready for release, but then what would result? Chaos, I thought as the cold made my skin burn. My hands were shoved deep into my pockets.

Somewhere behind me in the solid world I heard my name called and at last I was forced to look away. I stepped out of the dream into the clam world of reality.
