Alice Under the Sun
She watched with her
robin egg eyes,
bore into the soul
and when she laughed
it stung.
The picture of innocence
with hair spun from gold
and a sunflower dress,
but when she smiled
she revealed all things
concealed.
She felt no mercy
and she knew just what
she did, and took without
sorrow.
None could tell her
she was wrong,
and none quite believed
she was right.
She sung sweet songs
of pansies, and skipped
in wildflower fields
all the while wickedness
on her mind.
