Sally in the Rain
She would dance in the rain
bathed beneath the streetlight
her eyes were full of life and bright
but they hid a distant pain.
Around her neck she wore a ring upon a chain
and when she smiled it made everything seem right
she would dance in the rain
bathed beneath the streetlight.
With but a word or wink a man would be slain
some would say she was a vision of the night
she offered the promise of unearthly delight
and would pretreated deep into the vein
she would dance in the rain.
